QUALITY AND SAFETY.  OUR PROCESS

Our last harvest of 2025 is Capsicum from the polytunnel

At Rutland Biodynamics, we have a unique process which guarantees exceptional quality and safety for you and your patients. This separates us from other manufacturers.

Quality

As many herbs as our soil and climate allow are grown here on our Biodynamic farm in Rutland.  We know the exact provenance of the herbs that go into our fresh organic tinctures. Moreover, our plants are harvested and then macerated within a matter of hours so that all of the plant’s vitality goes into the tincture. All active constituents of the plant are captured in the process.  We believe that this is incredibly important for those seeking to get the most out of their tinctures..

It all starts early in the morning.  Matthew, our farm manager, is busy harvesting the capsicum.

Healthy soil is the key to plants full of vitality.  Our soil creates nutrient dense plants and effective tinctures for your patients.

By midday, the capsicum is in our cGMP and MHRA approved factory getting ready to be macerated.  In this case we are shredding the capsicum prior to maceration.

Within another hour, the maceration begins.

Using organic ethanol

Water from our borehole (which is rigorously and routinely tested in our lab for microbial activity)

After mixing the water and the ethanol, these are added to the capsicum

Safety

Our customers can have complete confidence in the safety of our tinctures.  They are all tested in our in house MHRA approved lab before release.

Applying the tincture to the agar jelly before incubation

Spreading it out over the jelly

Putting the plates into the incubator

And we will be ready for next year!
