Season 2022 so far

From winter sowing and indoor germination, through to the planting, weeding stages and harvesting, this year so far has been the best in the thirty years we have been growing herbs. Although as I write, we are entering a very hot forecast phase, following the past several years of extreme weather, which have either been too cold, too dry, too hot or too wet, this year has blessed us with a really ‘normal’ British weather pattern – a bit of everything in very good and proper balance. Hopefully, it is not tempting fate to say that so far, harvests have been the best on record and, as with everything in farming, usually quality and quantity come together.

Change to discount structure

Everyone is aware of spiralling costs and our staff have been given two well-deserved pay rises this year. In addition, input costs, such as alcohol but all our overhead costs continue to rise with general inflation. In order to cover these, rather than look at our prices again, we have reluctantly had to make the decision to make changes to our discounts on web & telesales orders that will be implemented as of 01st August 2022, these discounts apply to stocked catalogue product purchases only:

For online web orders the new rate will be 5%
For email or telesale orders the new rate will be 2.5% if paying with order

Please do take advantage of the current higher discount rates by placing your next order before the end of July.

Wishing you a very fruitful summer and autumn.

Best wishes,
The Rutland Team
