Spring is a magical time in nature’s calendar. It is a time of awakening for plants and animals alike as they are released from the clutches of a harsh winter. However, it is also a time of hard work for farmers. Matt and the farm crew have been hard at work on our Biodynamic farm nestled in the heart of rural England.
Since January, Matt has been growing about 250,000 plants from seeds in our three polytunnels. Now they are big enough to leave the comfort of their indoor lives and nature is ready to embrace them with a warm spring hug.

Matt and his team take these plants to the field in their large trays and then the planting begins.

This week we have planted the following herbs out on the farm

- Borage officinalis
- Eschscholtzia californica
- Plantago lanciata
- Artemisia vulgaris

However, with no rain in the forecast, we have been forced to start watering immediately. We really hope this is not the start of a repeat of last year. The spring and summer of 2025 was so dry, we had to water, water and water. Fingers crossed we get some rain soon!
